It was all started by two German businessmen. Wilhelm Ernst Haas senior and Wilhelm Ernst Haas junior. In 1854, the father and son bought a foundry. Business went well and, before long, the first wood and oil stoves began making their way out of the factory in Neuhoffnungshütten.
The company would prosper for decades. However, its heirs showed no interest in the family property and so, after many years, the seat of the company relocated to Austria, nearby Salzburg.
To this day, our colleagues are located in an area that you may well know from skiing trips
A few hundred kilometres away, in 1992, the halls of the Czech state-owned enterprise Rukov were given hope of a new lease of life. From strain gauges to furniture, everything imaginable was manufactured here. The founder of the company HAAS+SOHN Rukov, Mr Václav Cintl senior, however, decided to bet everything on one card. Stoves, which have always been technologically one step ahead, began their journeys from the foothills of the Lusatian Mountains to all corners of the world.
We’ve remained a family business to this day, and strive to maintain our technological lead with every day that goes by. We have our own team of design engineers and testing facilities.
Whether you prefer tiles or metal, we don’t know. But we do believe that our stoves will leave you with a good feeling.
